Due to the overwhelming spectators interest we decided to organize another screening of the film Untouchable. It will take place Sunday April 15th in the Lumiere Theatre, 1.30 p. m. in the hall 1. It is not possible to make a reservation of the entry, you have to reclaim the ticket directly in the cinema. We are looking forward to your vist!

Today, we are again celebrating till daybreak! We have a pleasure to invite you for a presentation of a book by Ľubomír Jančok taking place April 14th at 9. p. m. in KC Dunaj. The writer and PhD. student will come to speak about his book Glamour of Paris. His reading will be dulcified by a music accompaniment of the singer Janais, who will sing her own songs as well as some of the repertoir of famous French chansons. And of course, you may taste the exquisite French cheese and wine! We are looking forward to see you there! 

Friday 13th FIFFBA has been opened for wide public. You may fish in a sea of excellent films, and this year right in the city center again – in the Mladosť Cinema and newly opened Lumière Theater. The screenings take place in two halls from early in the afternoon till late night. Don´t miss the very attractive related events: the film Bullhead will be introduced today by Belgian actress Jeanne Dandoy; later there will a public discussion take place in KC Dunaj; and tomorrow you have a possibility to experience the Jour à Paris – directly in Bratislava! And of course, it is not possible to imagine FIFFBA without the favourite Film Night. Don´t miss the weekend film celebration in the centre of Bratislava.  

 The screening time of the film  Th e Last Bus was ch anged. The film  will be screened on Friday  April 3th  at 20:30 in the screening room 1 in Cinema Lumiere before the film  Untouchables,  and  on Saturday A pril 14th in the screening room 1 in Cinema Lumiere at 20 :30, before the film Best Intentions . During the festival, there will a spectators competition take place to decide for the best festival film. In  the cinemas, it suffice to write competition card out. The winners will gain return flight to Paris and books from the bookshop Artforum. Just don´t hesitate and take advantage of the last days when you can buy a cheaper ticket valid for the whole festival via Ticketportal. It´s price is 15 Eur, the entrance for the Film Night included.  

The 14th year of the International Francophone Film Festival FIFFBA 2012 will be solemnly opened by a Slovak singer Jana Kirschner, who will also moderate the opening ceremony. The festival’s opening film is a new release by Marjane Satrapi and Vincent Parronaud Chicken with Plums. The enchanting Persian film adaptation of a graphic novel follows the last days of a famous musician’s life as he desperately seeks to replace his beloved instrumental, the violin. Besides the film screening during the festival opening with no free entrance you may see the film on Friday, April 13th at 8.45 p.m.; and Saturday, April 14th at 5.15 p.m. in the Lumière Cinema.   

We regret to inform you that one of our guests, the director Bruno Romy, can´t be present at the festival due to the family reasons. We are sorry for his situation and hoping it will soon be set right. In spite of his absence, you may see his brilliant film The Fairy on Saturday, April 14th at 7 p.m.; and Sunday, April 15th at 7.30 p.m.

Tickets valid for all film screenings are available in advance for 15 € via Ticketportal. The ticket for whole festival enables the entry to all film screenings including the Film Night. With this ticket you will also get concessions to all related festival events and other benefits. It suffice to buy a voucher in any stand of the Ticketportal net and we will change it for a ticket valid for whole festival in our FIFFBA infopoints in each cinema (Lumière cinema and Mladosť cinema).  All accreditations are there for you already Thursday, 12th April, in the Lumière cinema. From April 12th, the price of the ticket valid for whole festival will rise to 18 €. The price for the Film Night will be 6 € and a ticket for individual film screenings costs 4 €.

We are delighted to may welcome some outstanding figures of contemporary French cinema, who will make up the atmosphere of the 14th International Francophone Film Festival in Bratislava. We look forward to very precious visits, let´s not miss a trick! This year we have the pleasure to welcome the woman director Yasmina Adi Booukehil and her documentary Here we drown Algerians (Ici on noie les Algériens).  The documentary presents many archival film shots from the brutally suppressed Algerian demonstration in 1961. Director Siegfried will present his up-to-date film Kids Stories.  This comedy takes place in Kazakhstan. Director, screenplay writer and actor Bruno Romy arrives from Paris in a company of his comedy The Fairy (La Fée). One day a man working in the small hotel suddenly sees a fairy, who will fulfil his wishes before she disappears. Actress Jeanne Dandoy will present a long-footage debut of the director Michael R. Roskam with the title The Bullhead. Jeanne depicted the character of Lucia Schepers who has a strong  influence on the key figure.The filmmakers will introduce the films personally and after the projection you will be given an unique opportunity to ask them several questions.
